I did a few rows of the Peacock shawl, one and half pairs of socks, and halfway into two more socks. I've got two more colors to go in my new sock yarn. And I used up my ball of Katia Cotton on my Kitchen Sink bag so I need to get more on Wednesday.

Go to Wikipedia and look up your birth day (excluding the year). List three neat facts, two births and one death in your journal, including the year.

1633-The Holy Office in Rome forces Galileo Galilei to recant his scientific view that the Sun, not the Earth, is the center of the Universe.

1978 - Charon, a satellite of the planet Pluto, is discovered.

1984 - William Schnoebelen and his wife Sharon are "saved" by a tract from Chick Publications. There is some debate over the reliability of this, however.

    Born-
1930 - Charles Augustus Lindbergh III, son of Charles Lindbergh and Anne Morrow Lindbergh, and murder victim (d. 1932)

1958 - Bruce Campbell, American actor

    Died-
1969 - Judy Garland, American singer and actress (b. 1922)

I went on a bit of a bender this month. Plus 2 and 3/4 socks. Read a whole book, finished a gusset, cleaned my bed and bath, washed the kitchen floor, did 7 loads of laundry, shopped with Mom, and took a fat nap- All today. You'd be amazed what you can accomplish when you get up at 7.

I finished a sock today, using my hand dyed yarn. The length and width are perfect my only problem is the heel. This is the same problem I had with the last pair I made. It feels like the heel is too tall. If I pull up the heel at my achilles tendon and fold it over it feels perfect but I don't know to solve this problem. A different heel or blocking? It just really sucks knowing I have to make another sock that will feel funny to have a pair. It really sucks having so many sock yarns in the wings when you have to make another. SSS you have me in your grip. I got a pack of 3 different size needle at the grocery yesterday. 5 needles each of 1, 0, 00, and 000 for only 10 bucks. I really can't see myself working on those 000s but I do work big so you never know.

Family Fun Day! LB and I went out shopping. We each spent too much on panties. She actually has someone to look at hers but I have no excuse. And then a cheap bathing suit top at Target. I love tankinis. I got a turquoise top. It shirrs up to a black rectangle that is connected to a string that ties around my neck. it shows entirely to much of all my fat but it makes my boobs look huge(r). And thats whats really important. The only place I'll wear it is a private pool if I have my way. And hopefully a beach in Florida. Topher and I played Ticket to Ride tonight. Fricken Gilmore Girls rerun. Its a fun game. He wanted me to play earlier in the week but I told him that I can't knit and play his game. At least knit lace and play a train game.

    February Book List

    2. The Da Vinci Code- Dan Brown- R
    3. Angels and Demons- Dan Brown- R

I gave up on The Wheel of Time. I couldn't take the thought of reading that giant book in which nothing happens. I was already doing the shawl that doesn't end, I needed some brain candy. And while I like the learnins giving in Dan Brown books, I don't enjoy his writing style. Just some light fluff that can be read easily on my breaks and between rows of the Peacock.

The Percentage Sweater is still sitting staring at me, not a stitch more worked on. And the yet to be frogged Noro hat.
All I can see in my future right now are socks.

Well the Knitting Olympics is coming to a close and I'm not even close. Row 157 of 250. Every knit row takes at least 30 minutes and the purls take 20. With an average-ish time of 30 minutes a row with 100 rows left... 50 hours of work left to do. Damn, when you say it like that. If I hadn'ta had Valentine's day right in the middle of this I might have finished. No extra time or energy and my days off right after were spent doing all the errands that hadn't gotten done the week prior. And I finished two books and started a pair of socks. In my defense, the socks were for working on at work because the shawl rows take longer than my breaks, and the books were for reading at meals.

    You Are Miss Piggy

A total princess and diva, you're totally in charge - even if people don't know it.
You want to be loved, adored, and worshiped. And you won't settle for anything less.
You're going to be a total star, and you won't let any of the "little people" get in your way.
Just remember, piggy, never eat more than you can lift!
